January “little green adventures” Newsletter

We need your help! Can you tell us if you like this newsletter? It takes 1 minute, this is a promise!! Click here.

We start the year with our homes chock-full of toys. It is time to declutter, yet each toy takes a lot of energy and resources to make. Give them an extra breath of life and help your children part with them by involving them with these steps:

REPAIR: Fix broken toys by taking them to our Repair Cafe ( 6th Jan.)

SWAP: Our first Toy Swap is coming on 24th Feb to Amersham library

SELL: Involve older kids to get some pocket money on platforms like Olio, Ebay or Facebook market.

DONATE: Try our local Charity shops, apps like Olio or the Entertainer’s BIG Toy Rehoming

RECYCLE: If all else fails, recycle! Our local teracycle will take some toys and there are various alternative for other bits and pieces such as plastic/batteries.

It is so important in the winter to keep a warm home. We normally use gas boilers which produce lots of polluting gases (11% of our personal emissions). It it really important for the planet (and pocket) to keep the warmth in! Would you like to use our thermal camera, a super cool gadget that shows where the heat is? Book a free visit to your home to have a look together at where the heat is leaking! Explore together how to keep the warmth in with these activities.
