Food is the fuel of our lives and the cornerstone of our health. However, it also have a big impact on the planet we live in.
Have you ever wondered about how to feed your family a healthy diet while making sure we cause the least impact possible to their future home? Do you want to get your kids more involved in cooking and food?
To learn a bit more about this we are organising a fun session for parents and children to prepare a dish together covering some principles of sustainable food: more veggies, better food, less waste.
We will touch, smell and look at various ingredients and work together at preparing them. There will be a lot of washing and chopping while we investigate what makes a planet-friendly dish, as well as what is healthy and how to waste less. This will be a relaxed session with plenty of time for having fun together, asking questions and just plain chatting and a great opportunity to engage our children into the world of cooking.
The session will take place on the 28th of September, 1:30 – 3 pm, at Amersham Youth (close to the Life Style Center, behind the ambulance station). We will host around 15 families, with children from 4-12 years of age (everyone can enjoy this workshop, those who can safely chop food can prepare the whole dish). Be ready to arrange a dish that you can take home! Please bring in a Tupper so we can save a bit of single use plastic!!
Register for this event or contact us with any questions.
