Volunteers scythed the last of the wildflower meadow at St Mary’s School. On Saturday 25 November Wild Amersham and Amersham Band volunteers scythed the last of the wildflowers so that the meadow won’t get too many nutrients (which wildflowers don’t like) and raked up the ‘arisings’ into a compost heap for hedgehogs, slow worms and other creatures to spend the winter in. If you’d like to learn scything, let us know through this link.
