We met to discuss how we will monitor and record local wildlife. Our Nature Records Group aims to get local people involved in national nature monitoring events such as the Big Garden Bird Watch. We will start with a New Year Plant Hunt (see https://bsbi.org/new-year-plant-hunt) on 2 January; keep an eye on our social media and calendar for details.
We’d like to encourage people to record local wildlife they see through iRecord, and to find out how local habitats are doing. We will also monitor the three sites we help manage for nature so we find out what plants, amphibians and reptiles, and birds live there and whether our work there is improving biodiversity.
