Learn to survey butterflies – 8th March

This event has happened

If you’re over 15 join us for this free afternoon event and discover how to monitor butterflies, contributing vital data that helps scientists protect these beautiful creatures. Coffee, tea, and cake will be provided.

Butterflies, the fleeting jewels of summer, are facing a significant decline. Scientists rely on information, collected by ‘citizen scientists’ like you and me, to understand when and where butterflies appear and how best to help them thrive.

Wild Amersham, Chiltern Chalk Streams Project and Butterfly Conservation are thrilled to host a special training session, led by expert Nick Bowles, a highly respected Conservation Officer for the Upper Thames branch of Butterfly Conservation and a regular contributor to British Wildlife magazine.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn and new skill and contribute to supporting these beautiful creatures.

How it went

17 people attended who learned about butterfly monitoring techniques and practised them in a field. The trainer was a very experienced butterfly expert, Nick Bowles

They said “‘thank you – it was a very enjoyable day and very well organised.”
