7pm to 8:30pm – Boot and Slipper, HP6 5JN
Join our friendly, informal book club for anyone curious about the environment, sustainability, or how we can build a better future together. Each time, we read a book (or just a chapter!) and come together to chat about the ideas it sparks.
It’s free to attend and everyone’s welcome.
How it works
- read as much as you like – the whole book or just a chapter.
- let us know you’re coming – so we can save you a seat.
- join the conversation – we’ll explore the themes, raise questions, and share reflections in a relaxed setting.
You don’t need to be an expert or have read the whole book, just come open to listening, learning, and meeting friendly, like-minded people.
This month’s book
This time we’ll be reading “Not the end of the world” by Hannah Ritchie. This book discusses our biggest environmental problems and explains how we can solve them.
Previous books
Environomics: how the green economy is transforming the world
The book takes readers through an “average day” to trace where green economic shifts are already happening around us, for example, turning on a light, checking your phone, drinking coffee. It highlights how sustainability is affecting everyday industry: energy, fashion, tech, shipping, food, finance, and construction.
Our verdict: We found it challenging to read but very insightful and balanced.
