Sustainable Amersham is entirely powered by volunteers – come and join us! We are a very friendly group and are grateful for all support and time spared.
If you’re over 16 and keen to do something for sustainability or nature there are many ways you could support us, for example:
You can choose to support an event project (such as Waste Matters, the Repair Café, and Wild Amersham), or take on a more regular team role. We’re open to anybody with any level of experience. You will meet lots of lovely people, learn a lot and help protect our town.
Whatever you’re looking for there’s something for everyone.

If you work for a business sign up for 1% for the Planet and your volunteering time will count towards your organisation’s contribution.

Research for local information
We need someone who can keep our website and newsletters updated on local nature and sustainability events, places to visit, campaigns to sign up to. Can you help?
Book keeper
Are you good with numbers? Do you have experience as an accountant?
Sustainable Amersham needs help on its Treasury management.
Social media contributor
We are looking for volunteers to help run our social media accounts and produce new content such as posts, reels, stories
We’re currently on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
Local press writer
We need help writing articles for various local publications (such as Local Directory, Bucks Free Press etc.).
Our volunteers would periodically write articles about events that we have held such as the Repair Cafe and liaise with the publications in order to raise our profile.
