Instead of using harsh toilet cleaners from plastic bottles, try these easy-to-make toilet bombs instead. We’re converts!
300g bicarbonate of soda (available in 500g boxes at the Ethical Superstore)
50g citric acid powder (also available at the Ethical Superstore)
5-10 drops of essential oils like lavender, rosemary, lemon, eucalyptus, tea tree
1-3 tablespoons of water
Place the powders in a mixing bowl and add 1 tablespoon of water and the essential oils. Mix quickly and add a little more water gradually until the mixture looks grainy and slightly clumps together.
Place the mixture into ice cube trays and leave overnight to set.
Once a week, drop a cube into the toilet bowl. Leave 20-30 minutes then scrub and rinse. Easy peasy!
