We took a stall at the regular Amersham market to promote No Disposable Cup Day and support the two independent cafes who were helping us trial a ‘ borrow cup’ scheme for the day.
At A Little Street Kitchen and Seasons cafes, staff were encouraging customers to drink in, bring their own reusable cup or borrow one for the day and return it after use to test the reusable cup experience for customers.
The next step is for the team to meet with the cafe owners to decide how best to promote a reusable cup habit by posters and signage within the cafes.
Encouraging behaviour change is key to the success of any future cup trial and there are many variables to consider before a pilot scheme can be put together.
